About elasticd · An Enhancesoft project
Serious about uptime.
Human about everything else.
Created by Peter Rotich. Built in the open at Enhancesoft.
Why it exists
Failover should be explainable.
When a service stops answering, moving an IP address is only part of the problem. Knowing which node is healthy, who is allowed to take over, and when to withdraw matters just as much.
elasticd brings those decisions into one explicit control loop. The goal is simple: help operators understand what their system is doing—and why—especially when something breaks.
What matters
Less guesswork. More evidence.
- Fresh evidence
- Health has a shelf life. Decisions should reflect what is known now.
- Explicit ownership
- Being healthy and being authorized are different things. Make both visible.
- Understandable failure
- When authority cannot be proven, make the safe outcome clear.
Pre-alpha · Building in public
Still taking shape. Open to scrutiny.
